Guided by the blind to perform for the deaf

My research started by creating a new method of music performance called “Plastic Extension of Music”, an alternative way to interpret music that transposes the movements and plasticity of the performer’s body into different materials to create art installations, paintings, drawings, sculptures, video works, etc.
“Guided by the blind to perform for the deaf”, is a collaborative artistic research project issued from “Plastic Extension of Music” that is aimed to learn the tactile and “visual” perspectives of tuned sound (music notes) from the imagination of the blind community, with the objective of creating a multi-sensory music language conceived for the hearing-impaired and the deaf.
This inclusive research project considers physical impairment as a source of knowledge based on experience that aims to create a multi-sensory language issued from music, as a new communication medium between the blind and the deaf.
